This floating oil & fuel absorbent boom is designed to contain and absorb hydrocarbon spill on water surfaces.
They are filled with super absorbent polypropylene micro fibres for maximum absorbency. This material also repels water so it continues to float even when saturated with oil. This floating oil & fuel absorbent boom can be positioned in the waterway proactively of in response to a spill incident. Depending on the tubidity of the water, they can be left in place for up to six months.
Each floating oil & fuel absorbent boom is double skinned for extra durability and reinforced with marine cord. They come complete with D-rings and snap hooks so they can be joined together to suit any length required.
When deciding the quantity you require, measure the straight line length and ad 50%. This will allow for a bow or U shape to contain floating hydrocarbons. If deploying in fast moving water, more than one row of booms may be required to contain spills.
For additional absorbing power, oil absorbent pads can be placed inside the U-shape. These pads will also continue to float and are easy to retrieve.
Oil absorbent rolls can be deployed along the shoreline to protect the bank.
